In celebration of National Coaches Week in Ontario this year, the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) has partnered with host communities from across the province to deliver NCCP Community Clinics, which aim to recruit, develop, educate and celebrate community volunteer coaches!
These workshops are being provided to coaches at SUPER Discounted rates thanks to the partnership with the Town of Cochrane & provincial sport organizations.

NCCP Make Ethical Decisions – 9:00am – 1:00pm – ONLY $10
By successfully completing the 3.5-hour Make Ethical Decisions workshop you will be fully equipped to handle virtually any ethical situation with confidence and surety. MED is one of the NCCP’s cornerstone workshops, and leaves coaches with no doubt as to what to do when the going gets tough. Upon completing the MED module you’ll be able to: analyze a challenging situation and determine if it has moral, legal or ethical implications; and apply the NCCP Ethical Decision-Making Model to properly respond to each situation in a way that is consistent with the NCCP Code of Ethics.
NCCP Planning a Practice – 1:30pm – 6:30pm – ONLY $15
The NCCP Planning a Practice learning activities will prepare coaches to explain the importance of logistics in the development of a practice plan, establish an appropriate structure for a practice and identify appropriate activities for each part of the practice. To receive the full credit for the NCCP Planning a Practice module, coaches must complete a FREE Emergency Action Plan eLearning activity in the locker, which will gives coaches a detailed EAP that includes all required information for responding to an emergency.

NCCP Ice Hockey Instruction – Skills Level 1 – 8:45am – 12:30pm – ONLY $10

The Skills Level 1 Clinic is part of the Instructional Coaching Stream of the National Coach Certification Program (NCCP). It is a competency-based program designed for coaches that are teaching hockey skills to players of all ages in a progressive manner. The clinic is 3 hours in length spread out over one day. Throughout the day, coaches will review interactive Clinic Modules on the following topics:
- Practicing with Purpose and Speed
- Game Application
NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program – 9:00am – 1:30pm – ONLY $10
The Basic Mental Skills module gives you the ability to: Recognize signs indicating that an athlete may need to improve his/her goal setting, focus, and anxiety control skills; and develop tools to help the athlete to make improvements in these areas; Run simple guided activities that help athletes improve basic mental skills.
