NCCP Coach Developers are experts in learning, as well as coaching who are directly responsible for the development of coaches. They include: Learning Facilitators, Coach Evaluators and Master Coach Developers. The NCCP has a simple and universal 4-step process for becoming a Coach Developer.
Provides NCCP Coach Developers with the skills to perform their role. Core Training for Coach Developers includes:
This training allows Coach Developer candidates to become familiar with workshop materials and the delivery of content for either multi-sport workshops or sport specific workshops. This includes relevant sport or multi-sport training, as well as micro-facilitation and/or micro-evaluation for an opportunity to practice delivery with peers.
New NCCP Coach Developers can practice with real coaches alongside an experienced Coach Developer. NCCP Coach Developers are considered “trained” when they’ve completed the first three steps of the pathway.
Once NCCP Coach Developers are evaluated as having the abilities necessary for their role, they are considered “certified.”
Core Training for Coach Developer courses are offered 2-3 times a year.
This workshop introduces Learning Facilitator candidates to the goals and philosophy of the NCCP, teaches them how to facilitate modules, and helps them understand the instructional design of the modules.
The workshop focuses on the evaluation principles and processes that NCCP Coach Evaluators need to follow when evaluating coaches.

Every NCCP workshop is lead by a trained Learning Facilitator (LF) who has undergone a standardized training process. They are crucial to the development of skilled and knowledgeable coaches who create positive, safe and happy experiences for their athletes and participants.
The goal of an LF is to effectively facilitate sessions that result in the development of coaches who are able to demonstrate their abilities and meet the standards established for certification.
A Learning Facilitator should have the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes to facilitate workshops using the competency-based approach. In addition, they serve as contributing members of the community and ambassadors for the NCCP.
