Would you like to make a huge difference in the lives of others? Becoming a Coach in Parasport does not require any special skills or pre-requisites. Just like coaching any sport all you need to start is passion, motivation and perhaps some patience.
Coaching Athletes with a Disability is an National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) eLearning module to diversify your coaching portfolio.
Coaching Athletes with a Disability NCCP training provides coaches the knowledge to deliver quality, positive sport experiences for athletes, specifically with behavioural, intellectual, physical, and sensory disabilities.
Coaching Athletes with a Disability is a resource for coaches who are new to coaching athletes with a disability. As well, many coaches who are already working with athletes with a disability will find useful information and resources in the online module.
Coaching Athletes with a Disability will provide coaches the ability to:
- Explain the benefits of sport participation for persons with a disability;
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with, and regards to persons with a disability;
- Design positive, safe, and inclusive sport experiences for persons with a disability; and
- Consider next steps in their professional development related to coaching persons with a disability.
The cost to take the training is $15. Access this fundamental resource, which will take approximately 45 minutes to complete, by clicking here and logging into your NCCP Locker account.
